The Amazing Cypress

There are nearly two dozen types of Cypress trees.

The Monterey cypress is a species of cypress native to the Central Coast of California. The native range of the species was confined to two small relict populations, at Cypress Point in Pebble Beach and at Point Lobos near Carmel, California. But this species has been widely planted outside its native range, particularly along the coasts of California and Oregon.

The Mediterranean Cypress (also known as Italian or Tuscan Cypress) is a species of cypress native to the eastern Mediterranean region. It has been widely cultivated as an ornamental tree for millennia away from its native range, throughout the whole Mediterranean region, and in other areas with similar hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters
