Kwan-Liu Ma is distinguished professor of computer science at University of California, Davis. He received his PhD degree in computer sciecne from the University of Utah in 1993, and then worked at ICASE/NASA Langley Research Center before joining UC Davis in 1999. His research is in the intersection of data visualization, computer graphics, human computer interaction, and machine learning. For his significant research accomplishments, Professor Ma has received several recognitions, among others in 2000 the NSF PECASE award, in 2012 IEEE Fellow, in 2013 the IEEE VGTC Visualization Technical Achievement Award, in 2019 IEEE Visualization Academy, and 2024 ACM Fellow.
