Assignment #L — Happiness, Depression, Human Kindness

A recent article in the Davis Enterprise talked of Noah (last name withheld by the paper), a 22-year-old UCD student who committed suicide last summer. He hanged himself from a tree near the Davis cemetery. The article included the following passage:
At Noah’s Sept. 30 memorial service, Grim [Noah’s uncle] shared the story of a man who committed suicide by leaping off the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. He left at home a note saying that if anyone smiled at him or said “hello” during his two-mile walk to the bridge, he wouldn’t make the jump.

No one did.

Respond to the passage in any manner you wish, uploading something to Canvas. Actions or artistic responses especially encouraged.

I suspect the notes I photographed and put online a couple weeks ago, the notes posted outside the Craft Center, were a response to this or some other recent suicide, or to Grim’s remarks.
