- I’m going to take a week off of problem sets, as we’re a bit behind where we
should be for the next one.
Shocked?
- Next Wednesday, May 1, is cat day.
Not yet a national holiday, but maybe soon.
I welcome you to bring your cat to class. Or you neighbor’s cat. But a nice cat,
mind you—not a creature like niece’s evil cat.
- I imagine that you are all wondering the following:
if there is a quiz next Wednesday, and if I bring my cat,
does cat need to take the quiz?
It is a good question. The answer is No, cat does not need to take any quiz.
Cat may take a quiz if it wishes to.
- For week-4 and week-5:
Defining probabilistic and nonce-based encryption.
Blockciphers (pseudorandom permutations / PRPs).
DES and AES.
Modes.
The PRP/PRF switching lemma.
